REDDITCH United lost at home for the third league game in a row following a 2-1 defeat against AFC Sudbury.
Defender Max Ram put the Reds into an early lead only for goals from Josh Allen and Charlie Lewis to turn the game in Sudbury’s favour before the break at the Valley Stadium.
The result means Redditch sit 10th in the Southern League Premier Central table, one point outside of the play-off places.
Tim Flowers’ side made the perfect start when Ram forced the ball home after just four minutes after competing for an aerial ball with Sudbury goalkeeper James Bradbrook.
However, Sudbury equalised six minutes later as Allen received a pass from the right and fired a shot through Reds goalkeeper Callum Smith.
The home side spurned a glorious chance to reclaim the lead when Billy Shaw played in Johnny Johnston only for the latter to shoot straight at Bradbrook when one-on-one.
Sudbury completed the turnaround six minutes before half time as Lewis fired the ball into the roof of the net from close range following a scramble in the box.
The Reds almost found an equaliser after the break as Johnston flashed a ball across the face of goal and just out of the reach of Marvellous Onabirekhanlen at the back post.
At the other end, Sudbury almost sealed the points as Benjamin Isaacson’s low cross from the right hit the base of the post and bounced to safety.
Both Jaiden White and Reuben Wyatt saw efforts saved before George Burroughs shot over the crossbar from just inside the penalty area.
Smith held Joe Neal’s free-kick at the death with the Reds unable to carve out a clear cut chance as Flowers’ men suffered a third successive home defeat in the league.
Redditch are next in action away at Barwell on Monday, October 14 with kick-off at 7.45pm at Kirkby Road.
