WILL Skelton scored a brace as Sporting Club Inkberrow beat local rivals Pershore Town 3-0 while the visitors ended the game with 10-men.

Skelton struck twice to put Sporting in command before an own goal completed the scoring at Sands Road as Pershore substitute Nathan Benson saw red late on.

The result means Inkberrow sit fifth in the Hellenic League Premier Division table, inside in the play-off places on goal difference.

Sporting made the perfect start when Jack Tolley cut the ball back to Skelton who smashed the ball into the roof of the net after just six minutes.

And the home side should have extended their lead soon after only for Scott Loader to deny Tolley when one-on-one.

Skelton eventually doubled Inkberrow’s lead on 65 minutes with another clinical finish after tireless work from Jay Higgins-Pugsley out wide.

And the home side sealed the points when a Pershore player inadvertently turned Max-Emilios Angelides’ corner into his own net.

The visitors then had Benson sent off for committing a foul as the last defender while a sin-bin for James Baldwin meant the away side played the majority of the final 10 minutes with nine men.

Sporting Club Inkberrow are next in action against Thornbury Town on Saturday, October 26 with kick-off at 3pm at the Mundy Playing Fields.
