MATT Clarke insists he will keep fighting to save Redditch United’s season ahead of a derby clash with local rivals Bromsgrove Sporting.
The Reds head into the fixture on a run of nine games without a win following a late 1-0 defeat at AFC Sudbury last weekend.
Redditch sit 18th in the Southern League Premier Central table, just one place and four points above the relegation zone.
However, the Reds have a fine recent record against the Rouslers having won the last five derby meetings between the two clubs.
And Clarke admits his side must deal with the pressure of the occasion.
Clarke said: “They’re not exactly ripping it up wither, they’ll be rubbing their hands to face us because of the rivalry and where we are.
“They’re ahead of us [in the league] for the first time in a long time, they’ll want to come and put more pressure on us.
“We have to be mentally prepared to deal with that pressure. The dressing room needs a little bit of boost.
“I’m confident, it’s a tough time at the minute and there’ll be a bit of flack and so there should be because of the run we’re on.
“But I’m a fighter and I’ll keep fighting for as long as I can.”
Redditch host Bromsgrove on Saturday, March 29 with kick-off at 3pm at the Valley Stadium.
