SPORTING Club Inkberrow held off a late fightback from 10-man Corsham Town to win 3-2 in a thriller.
The home side led by two goals at the break after Jack Tolley netted a brace at Sands Road.
And Corsham lost Liban Ibrahim to a red card early in the second half before substitute Will Skelton extended Inkberrow’s lead.
However, the visitors halved the deficit courtesy of Devanti McInerney before Ross Staley netted eight minutes from time.
Inkberrow had goalscorer Tolley sent off in the dying minutes as the home side held on to return to winning ways.
The result means Sporting sit third in the Hellenic League Premier Division table with one fixture left to play.
Inkberrow broke the deadlock when Louis Smith fumbled Tolley’s free-kick into the net.
And Sporting doubled their lead as Tolley tapped home after good link-up play between Max-Emilios Angelides and Samson Hewett.
The visitors had Ibrahim sent off on 52 minutes after he kicked an Inberrow player when attempting to take a free-kick.
Inkberrow made the most of the man advantage to all but seal the points as substitute Skelton headed in Jay Higgins-Pugsley’s cross.
However, Corsham responded on 72 minutes as McInerney’s shot from distance took a huge deflection on its way into the net.
And Staley then powered a shot home at the near post on 82 minutes to set-up a grandstand finish before Tolley saw red for Sporting in the closing stages.
Sporting Club Inkberrow finish the league season against Hartpury University on Saturday, April 12 with kick-off at 3pm at Hartpury College.
