ALCESTER RFC slipped to a fourth straight league defeat after losing 20-7 away at Old Leamingtonians.
The visitors led at the break courtesy of Ieuan Hopkin’s try and Ed Gough’s conversion only to concede 15 unanswered points in the second half at The Crofts.
And the result means Alcester sit fourth in the Counties 1 Midlands West (South) table.
A much-changed Alcester handed a start to veteran and club stalwart Robbie Parker – playing in his 31st consecutive season of first XV rugby.
Old Leamingtonians scored the game’s first try only for Alcester number eight Hopkin to respond for the visitors as Gough kicked the extras.
Injuries and changes to the team took its toll on Alcester after the break while the visitors lost Dwayne Cruickshank to the sin-bin for a late tackle.
Leamington scored 15 unanswered points to take the game away from Alcester who are yet to win a game since the turn of the year.
Alcester are next in action against Camp Hill on Saturday, March 1.
Elsewhere, the club’s second team lost 42-12 away at Claverdon as Ollie Satchwell and Toby Birks crossed for tries while Charlie Rose kicked a conversion.
