LODGE Farmers stretched their lead at the top of the Redditch Skittles League with a maximum points victory against Jumbo Jet Set.
The Farmers took an eight-pin lead after the first leg courtesy of Jamie McGill’s 11-pin stack.
And Farmers won the next three legs by a single pin before taking the last leg to come away with maximum points.
For Farmers, Frank Morris (42, 13 stack), McGill (38) and Andy Rumble (37) top scored while Dennis Compton (40), Mick Stanton (34) and Rob and Len Quartly (both 33) all impressed for Jumbo Jets.
Elsewhere, The Borough denied Engineers maximum points as the latter side claimed a narrow six-pin success.
Engineers raced into a commanding 18-pin after taking the first two legs.
The Borough rallied to take leg three and reduced the deficit to six pins but the lost the next leg by a single pin.
Engineers scored the required 50 pins for victory in the final leg but could not top The Borough’s last leg total of 56 pins.
For Engineers, Joe Kelso (35) and Andy Clewlow and Luke Saunders (both 34) all impressed while Stephen Mears (42, 14 stack), Scott Few (32) and Michelle Court (31) top scored for The Borough.
In an even closer game, just five pins separated Nomads and C and G Show as the former side came away with the lion’s share of the points.
Nomads took a two-pin lead after the first leg before the two teams shared leg two.
And Nomads won leg three to stretch their lead to nine pins before C and G Show won the last two legs.
For Nomads, Geoff Loat and Mac Eaton (both 36) and James Marshall, Eddie Upright, Graham Hanley and Alan Cummings (all 33) top scored.
For C and G Show, Neil Jay, Rich Fisher, Paul Hollis and Dave Orton (all 34) impressed.
