DAN Sweeney’s goal just before the hour mark earned Alvechurch a point in a 1-1 home draw against Leiston.
Sweeney drew the hosts level with a stunning strike on 58 minutes after Ismael Fatadjo put the visitors ahead at Lye Meadow.
The result means Alvechurch sit 11th in the Southern League Premier Central table.
Leiston broke the deadlock on 18 minutes as Fatadjo showed quick feet in the box before sweeping a shot into the bottom right corner.
However, Church equalised after the break when Sweeney chested down goalkeeper Ben Cisse’s long kick before firing an unstoppable effort into the net on the half volley from 20-yards out.
Alvechurch are next in action against AFC Sudbury on Tuesday, March 25 with kick-off at 7.45pm at Lye Meadow.
